Tree of the month for May was won by Chris J with his Chinese Juniper, 2nd was
Sally with her Larch and 3rd was Derek with his Cotoneaster. Other entrants were
Anthony with a Japanese Hawthorn, Bob with a Laburnum, Tony O. with a Spirea
and Graham with a Mountain Maple.

Chairman,s chat May meeting
Despite missing our Chairman and Treasurer, the meeting was very well attended with some 17 members, welcome to our new member Gary Topham. It was nice to see Graham again and Ben and we hope his dad recovers soon. Malcolm bought a few more trees to sell and they were snapped up very quickly and the purchasers were helped in styling them. It was a very hands on workshop and good to see so many people bringing their trees along .
Clive Harber as show manager was called upon to make his now usual and practised decision making on the display which we are putting forward for the British Cactus and Succulent show at Melksham on 15th June.

June meeting will be the bring and buy sale as this format was more popular last year and attracted much better material.
Reminder Newbury & District Bonsai Society are holding their Bonsai Roots show on Sunday 7th July and we will be putting on a display.
We only have the June meeting above to have a dummy run this meeting will be busy with our table sales and the dummy run but it should be an interesting evening SO BRING SOME TRESS FOR THE SHOW PLEASE.

Apologies for tardiness in late results for Tree Of The Month 2012
The results were very close with only first and second split by just two points, the winner is Tony O he is the one on the left congratulations to him and thanks to all those that took the trouble to bring trees in to the monthly meetings last year.

Chairman,s chat March meeting
This months meeting was a broad demonstration/talk by Malcolm on refining trees both for development and potential showing.
Malcolm discussed his techniques and what worked for him as well as his experiences gained over the years.

Our last meeting was a workshop plus preparing for the Swindon show.Due to the weather only Tony O brought anything to work on.

February’s meeting was used for a dummy run for the Swindon winter image show, members were invited to bring in trees for Clive H to pick the best combination for our club display.
