On Sunday 4th November Clive H myself and Sandra travelled up to Heathrow to put on a club display in the Heathrow Bonsai show, the weather was atrocious going up raining all the way, marquees had been put up but the rain was being driven in through any gap onto the tables so it was decided not to use our backdrops and cloths.

As you will read in Sandra,s corner it was a some what subdued meeting but it did give time to reflect and remember Manuel Gonzalez, I have only fond memories of a real character who when ever you met him you were not sure what he was going to come out with, his enthusiasm for Bonsai was real and endless.

Septembers meeting was a talk by Malcolm on Tokonoma, this was a step away from working on trees and was aimed at explaining to members who had not seen this before as to what is a Tokonoma and what makes a good and bad one.
TOTM August
August’s TOTM was judged by Ritta & Mark Cooper who chose Sally’s Trident Maple for first place with Clive Harber in second place with his Cotoneaster and Third place was Tony O with his Privet. Chris J was the forth entry.

You will read in Clive H,s show report that our last display for Salisbury,s 25th did despite two minor hiccups go rather well, congratulations to Salisbury club for finding such a suitable venue with ease of access, parking and most important food available all day.
